Apple has finally updated its software multimedia Thursday. Presented in September, iTunes 11 offers a streamlined interface and greater interaction with iCloud.
Presented on September 12 at the last Apple keynote, iTunes 11 was first released in October. Postponed to November at the last minute, the software is now available since November 29. Addition to a simplified interface with less buttons and the disappearance of the sidebar, iTunes 11 toggles the window into a mini player. As social service Ping, launched in 2010, the "cover flow" has disappeared in favor of a single interface type display. So the classification piecewise necessarily appears in a list when ranking album covers and displays that sorts by artists using a column to the left.
Another innovation of iTunes 11 is the integration of streaming. Since the acquisition of Lala.com by Apple in 2009 the speculations is rife about the launch of a streaming service for the Cupertino company. It is finally not a subscription service, Spotify or Deezer kind, but the ability to play songs purchased from iTunes from your computer without the need to download them. Securities purchased but not downloaded are represented by the icon and iCloud are directly integrated in the disco.
Finally, last but not least innovation, the "next song." When playing an album or a playlist, you can add another piece just after playing before returning to the current list of listening.
