Jailbreak the iPad 3 1/iPad 2/Ipad iOS 5.1.1

Absinthe 2.0, new jailbreak utility, has finally been released today by the Chronic-Dev Team. It will allow you to jailbreak all devices that integrate the chip A4, A5 and A5X iOS 5.1 and iOS 5.1.1. The program is available for Mac OS X, Linux and Windows.

For those who wonder what the jailbreak, it is a manipulation to "break" the security established by Apple iOS on different devices  and allow the installation of applications not authorized by Apple through Cydia, a kind of App Store dedicated to jailbreak.

Jailbreak 5.1.1 compatible devices

iPad 3 (The new iPad) (WiFi / CDMA / Global)
iPad 2 (WiFi / CDMA / GSM)
iPad 1

Attention the new model of iPad 2 engraved with a thinner chip is currently not compatible. If you have recently purchased an iPad 2, you should be very sure in this case.

Update your iOS 5.1.1:

Before starting the tutorial, do well to go under iOS 5.1.1 to avoid any problem. To do this, connect your iPad to iTunes, then select on the sidebar of the software and click "Update."

Make a backup of your device with iTunes to avoid losing your data (right click on your device in the iTunes sidebar and then Save).

Then go to Settings -> General -> Reset and select Erase All Content and Settings. This action will render the jailbreak more stable . Also remember to disable any automatic lock code!

Launch Absinthe and connect your iPad via USB to your PC / Mac

Note for Windows users: To run the application, make right click on the icon Absinthe then click Run as administrator

Click jailbreak and wait quietly for the manipulation takes place. The process takes around 5 minutes. Never disconnect your unit during the latter.

Your device is now Jailbroken!

Then return to iTunes on the sidebar click the right button on your device and then "Restore from a backup" and select the last backup

Your device is jailbroken and restored your backup!

The Cydia icon should now appear on your iPad. Then run the application and let it do the installation components. Once complete, open Cydia again and choose your profile, we recommend that you profile "User".

Then, at the bottom of the application, select the Sources tab and press the Edit button and then the Add button on the left. In the dialog box, enter the address of our directory Cydia: http://cydiasystem.com the Add button and type the source, a warning message appears, select Add Anyway.
