Apple loses iPhone trademark in Brazil

A few days ago, we told you about Apple's concerns in Brazil about the use of the name iPhone. In 2000, the company filed Gradiente Eletronica this name to the local institute patents and is the rightful owner of the term iPhone. The verdict was delivered today and the Brazilian Committee has given reason for Gradiente Eletronica.

Apple is no longer the legal owner of the term iPhone. Gradiente Eletronica attacked Apple with the release of her iPhone last December. The Brazilian firm has the legal right to challenge Apple in court if desired. But Gradiente Eletronica boss said he was open to discussion with the Cupertino company and would be willing to negotiate the naming (big shots dollars probably).

Note that iPhone Gradiente Eletronica belongs to only mobile phones. Apple has the right to use in all other areas, except that it needs. For now Gradiente Eletronica has not attacked Apple in justice and the American firm has not commented on decision.
