The Mozilla Foundation has unveiled two smartphones designed to allow developers to test its new mobile operating system, OS FireFox.
OS FireFox, which is compatible with HTML 5, is based on "free" software, whose source code is open and can be changed.
These first two smartphones, dubbed Keon and Peak, were designed by the Spanish manufacturer GeeksPhone in partnership with Telefonica, based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset and compatible with 2G and 3G cellular networks.
Keon model has a 3.5-inch screen and 512 MB RAM. Peak smartphone has a 4.3 inch screen. Being reserved for communities of developers, they have not, for the moment, official price.
Mozilla hopes that they will be the first of a series of low-cost devices that can be sold worldwide.
